Position Summary

A Press Operator  has basic metal stamping knowledge involving working around or within an area that includes presses. May include any of the functions listed below.

 

Essential Functions

  • Required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms to handle material
  • Must be safety conscience always and exercise great care regarding the equipment, materials and the safety of others and oneself.
  • Operates single stroke press and auxiliary equipment in a safe and correct manner.
  • Performs and documents required visual and physical quality inspections as indicated by control plan/operator check sheet.
  • Pushes button or depress pedal to activate machine.
  • Stack, label, pack, and transport finished workpieces
  • Basic metal stamping knowledge
  • Experience around or with stamping presses
  • Knowledge and use of measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers

Supervisor Responsibilities

Desired Qualifications

  • One years related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Desire for additional education and training
  • General knowledge of operating metal cutting machine tools, saws, drills, mills, grinders and hand tools

 

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written
