SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor directs the daily activities of the production area to ensure volume, cost, and
quality standards are achieved. Coordinates work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity. Identifies problems related to production process and provides production reports to assist process improvement. Suggests improvements to processes and is a knowledge resource for other team members. Possesses thorough knowledge of the team processes. Is a working member of the team and can fill in at any critical position where necessary.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Help manufacturing staff achieve company goals by communicating expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results
  • Enforce company policies and guidelines
  • Train employees
  • Assist workers by offering personal career growth opportunities
  • Implement cost-saving strategies and techniques
  • Ensure production plans are completed on time
  • Contact appropriate sources for repair issues
  • Counsel employees on how to achieve optimal output and workflow
  • Resolve issues and disputes between manufacturing employees
  • Create and maintain professional schedules
  • Communicate with and assist other manufacturing departments as needed
  • Evaluate the condition of production equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all workers
  • Compile and analyze production records and reports to colleagues on other shifts to ensure smooth transition and optimum work flow
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:
 
  • Minimum of two year post high school education and/or 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with both manual and ERP planning systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to solve problems, be creative, multi-task and be a hands-on leader
 
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
 
Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
 
MATHMATICAL SKILLS:
 
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
 
Ability to lift 30 pounds when required. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 
WORK ENVIRONMENT
 
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. The environmental noise level is moderate to high. Physical hazards to include moving equipment, large machinery, and heavy and sharp metal stamped and machine parts. Breathing fumes, dust and mist. Skin exposure to oils and cutting fluids.
